The thing about Christmas is the commercialization leading up to it. Ditto for Easter. This is really sad from the perspective of faith. My wife and I are often glad when they're over. I guess that also reveals the genius behind the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent. Each grounds us and challenges us to focus on the Lord rather than on shopping and candy.

Thanksgiving on the other hand is perhaps our last holiday where the meaning holds true year after year. As it turns out, gratitude is always in season.
