This week, our 1950's kitchen has gotten a dramatic makeover. Floors, cabinets, lighting, etc. We chose our contractor not only because he is a licensed craftsman but because he is an excellent writer. Huh?

I was struck by the quality of his emails to us, from prior to the estimate to his follow up. His writing revealed purpose, organization and attention to detail- all things that impressed us and ultimately landed him the job. I'm not sure that most tradesmen think about how they communicate but it goes to show that excellent writing skills pay off, no matter the profession.
